I just finished reading several reviews regarding Ashford Univ. There are several negative reviews and that is unfortunate for both school and student. I have attended this school in 2012 and re-entered 2/18 seeking a BA in ABS. I have six classes left and will graduate in 2/2020. My experience here was positive and truthful. From the school awarding me 56 credits previously from other schools, financial aid, cost, etc., have been correct and in-line void of any disappointment. If I needed a break here and there it was afforded to me no problem, even after having no power or internet for 30 days after Hurricane Michael. I don't anticipate any problems in the future either. There will always be haters and people blaming someone else for their troubles, and sometimes they are correct. Read between the lines. Great school great experience for me.

Oct 08, 2018  Ashford University is a great school. I went there for 4 1/2 years and received a dual degree in Psychology and Early childhood development. If I could do it all over again, I would because this was a great achievement for me. I would tell others about this school. See reviews of all programs at Ashford University. It was very fast past paced and challenged me in both. Ashford is a very supportive and compassionate faculty. I have had some really good teachers. I use the mobile app on my phone and it is a major convenience. They have state of the art technology and offer many programs. Google the university it has been around since the early 1900s and has a traditional school with athletic teams and all.

I completed 90 credits with another online University, before my employer developed a partnership with Ashford. I had no complaints about the University I attended, I paid out of pocket expenses, student loans and had access to tuition reimbursement programs. Through my employer's partnership with Ashford, I chose to enroll and take advantage of their full tuition grant program. I had the most wonderful experience with Joseph the enrollment adviser. He lead me through the process with getting my credits transferred, setting up the bridge between Ashford and my employer and went above and beyond his job to help me get it all taken care of.

I took the opportunity to read the negative reviews on this University and found that most of the complaints are financial related, not with the University, staff or curriculum itself. Online University is not a cheap, easy or fake way through education. It is definitely not for everyone, and I would encourage anyone to re-evaluate before enrolling to make sure this is the right choice for them. Be accountable for your own knowledge, actions and financial planning.

I just completed my Bachelors in Criminal Justice and I must say that I would and will recommend Ashford to anyone I come in contact with. I am an active duty Marine and they have accommodated me whenever I had to withdraw from school due to military deployments. My advisor was great and although they did change once it never really had an impact on the quality of service I received. It is a lot of work so if you do not have the discipline I do not recommend taking any college courses. Also, take the time to review your financial options, do not get into something you cannot afford. The college is for profit so make sure all your financial paperwork is in order. The professors were great for the most part, and the curriculum was comparable to other universities. They all make you take classes you think you do not need this is not out of the ordinary. College is not free people make sure you have a plan!!!

I just finished my major classes and am in my 3rd year working on my minor - if you have self-discipline and can enforce good time-management to get your workload done according to the grading rubric and requested date, it is awesome. I have had zero issues with the material or workload - very flexible and I always take a lot away with me. The teachers can be hit or miss - but I've had way more positive/neutral experiences than I have bad - and it just takes an email to them to remedy it (not everyone grades the same, this can be a gray area if it is written assignments vs. Math and Science where it is black and white answers).

I used the GI Bill to cover my courses and it has run very smoothly - just make sure you double up on all those general education classes in the beginning so you don't run out of your eligible 36 months before your bachelors is complete. Ashford has classes all year long - but only one course at a time - so when creating the GI Bill they were thinking of traditional school terms (and multiple classes at once to finish in 36 months). This was a surprise- but the Pell Grant really helps and I'll only need a small student loan to cover the rest thankfully.

My advisors aren't ever really helpful and informative - but they're there if I have queries. I only wish Ashford offered more reputable/beneficial honors clubs. I've maintained a 4.0 and can't see the value in any of the ones which have invited me :P. I would suggest this school if you are willing to commit yourself to the independent workload :). It can be accommodated by any schedule.

I just wanted to give a brief review of my experience attending Ashford University. I just completed my degree in Psychology and it was a great experience. It took me four years and I had to stop and start many times to get through it, but Ashford worked with me through every situation I had to keep me on track and stopping my classes when I needed to stop. Communication with your academic advisor is important so that you can submit the necessary forms to stop your classes and then start them again. It was a smooth ride for me. I did not have any issues with any class or finances at all! You have to communicate with your advisors and professors just like you would if you attended class in person. It is a great school providing a great education! Just wanted to say thanks to Ashford University for working with me through these years to helping me get my degree!

I am enrolled in the HVAC program with Ashford University. They denied me the voucher for the EPA certification with I paid for as a part of the program. The reason: I have not completed their lousy diploma program. You DO NOT need an online HVAC certification to handle refrigerant or work in HVAC. You DO NEED the EPA 608 which I was told would be provided in voucher form. The program has no direct access to an instructor (there is not even an instructor with contact information my class!), no group discussions or anything beyond a textbook which has been useful. I am now employed in HVAC, and would NOT recommend Ashford University. Their school is only nationally accredited which many employers no longer recognize, meaning any other expensive program would be a waste.

After attending Ashford University for 2 years I called to reenroll after taking a break because of family. I have 4 course to complete my BA degree. I was told I owed $490. Ok from where? Then after reviewing the acct they said, 'Oh we sent your balance to external collections.' I said, 'Why, no one called, emailed nor paper mailed me.' They said, 'We called 7 times from automatic numbers and we don't have to leave voicemails nor are we obligated to email you.' After speaking to Bob ** he stated, 'Informing you isn't our responsibility nor the collection agency.' Wth? If someone owes a debt IT IS your responsibility to make several attempts to contact the debtor. If you cannot complete your degree without breaks and full financial aid DO NOT ENROLL at Ashford University. It has been 5 months and still no contact from Ashford's collection department nor the alleged collection agency.

I initially enrolled with Ashford University years ago due to being recommended by a colleague who ended up not even finishing her degree with Ashford. She ended up having to get a degree at a local school due to finances. In my case, due to being diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder, I've had to drop out of school multiple times. It has taken me twice as long to finish a degree due to such circumstances.

Unfortunately, Ashford refuses to accept credits from other reliable Universities such as The University of Phoenix. Please Please! If you are planning to transfer- make sure that your credits will be accepted first. Ashford informed me that they were not able to give me a transfer determination until after I finished my first course. I should have picked up on the signs of sneakiness at that point! It is my opinion that the University's benefit to deny as many transfer credits as possible so that they can continue to charge outrageous amounts for future courses. Good luck!

Best advice is to stay far, far away from this sham of a school. And shame on Ashford for their negative impact on so many lives of those trying to better themselves. For me personally, I am not only stuck with student loans but after Ashford told me I did not owe them anything further, they contacted me at the start of my very last class to inform me that I owe them over $5,000. How is anyone expected to come up with $5,000 in 5 weeks! Even after taking this to disputes (this process is also a joke), it is unclear to me what the unpaid balance is for or why they told me earlier I did not owe anything. The only thing I got out of the conversation is that I owe it and have to pay it, final.

Now after setting up a payment plan with Ashford, they have placed me in collections. This whole situation has left my head spinning and is not something that I can easily recover from. Giving up the last 4 years of my life to work on my bachelor's degree took a lot of hard work and dedication. The positive is that I made the deans list every semester and finished with a 3.91 GPA. The downside is that I have no degree (because they will not release my records), I did not get to attend graduation, I am over $60,000 in student loan debt and I was just informed that Ashford has turned me over to a bill collector for the $5,000 they say I owe.

As you can imagine, I am kicking myself every day for choosing Ashford University to earn a bachelors degree. As the saying goes, hindsight is 20/20 and too late for me, but hopefully not for others looking to better themselves through education. I wish I would have read the reviews prior to signing up. In the end, what Ashford has done to me and so many others is unforgivable, but if I can spare just one person from the nightmare I am going through, then writing this review will have been worth it.

From day one of speaking to an Ashford Rep until the day I received my undergraduate degree, I had a great experience. The classes were challenging and the instructors attentive to my needs. I have attended brick and mortar colleges and found my experience at AU to be the best all around education received. I am very proud of my degree from Ashford University.

Dear Mr. ******,

Thank you for the opportunity to respond to Mr. ****’s complaint. I contacted Mr. **** with the intent of working directly with him to address his concerns, but he declined my offer to do so. Last days of gaia english patch.

I have reviewed Mr. ****’s student record in light of his complaint and am providing you with a summary of my findings.

During Mr. ****’s most recent enrollment at the University, he received non-passing grades in three of his academic courses, which had the effect of increasing his student account balance. Per the terms of the University Academic Catalog, and consistent with regulations established by the U.S. Department of Education, students attending Ashford University must satisfy the credit and attendance requirements of each individual financial aid pay period before they are eligible to receive additional financial aid. Therefore, when Mr. **** was unsuccessful in a course, he was required to either successfully retake the course or complete another course in his program before he was eligible for his next financial aid disbursement. It is these additional courses that contributed to Mr. ****’s account balance.

Ashford University Psychology Program Reviews 2016

Additionally, I found that Mr. **** was notified of his account balance, and he had access to his ledger card at all times, during, and after his enrollment. Consistent with its published policy, the University reserves the right to withhold diplomas and transcripts pending settlement of outstanding accounts.

During my review of Mr. ****’s records, I found no irregularities in his student account, nor did I find any indication that the University deviated from its published policies.

Please feel welcome to let me know if you have any questions.
